SO my 175 still has an high temp running problem.  In fact it over heated today, coolant out the radiator lid. Shut it down and walked away for a few  hours.  Tried to start to get it back home,(800 ft or so) no dice.  Lotsa smoke out the stack but no firing up.  Obviously the coolants low, but would low coolant cause it to not start?

Also the D17 wont run right after I bent the muffler...no issues with manifold.  New muffler slightly smaller diameter of pipe (1/8"?) It runs either barley at all or just bad - will transistion on the fly between the two..  Maybe gummed up carb I dunno...

So two tractors down!
If its not an All-Crop, it all crap!

Low coolant on the 175?  Was it full earlier?  IF so, it went somewhere.  Could be a head gasket issue.  Is your temp gauge working? If so, you should shut it down before it boils over.

D17 with issues: Perhaps the manifold gaskets are not seating properly and allow it to suck in air.

Yes it was full. It boiled over. Wont restart.

Checked D17 manifold, its fine.  Was backfiring like crazy.  Think that may gave screwed up the carb.  Going to take off carb and check
