The following photo shows the AC wagon hoist options from an Allis-Chalmers Running Gears sales brochure FE-379 668(Farm Equipment Division 379 1966 August). Upon reading this, I'm assuming the flare boxes received the High Lift 56" hoist & the barge boxes got the Extra High Lift 84" hoist? Also, I did not realize the 3" versus 5" hoist cylinder options. Guessing the older AC tractors (WC, WD, WD45, D14, early D17s, & D19s)with high pressure/low volume hydraulics would have been paired with the 3" hoist cylinder? Later AC tractors(D17IV, 100 series, etc) with lower hydraulic pressure/high volume systems would have been paired with the 5" hoist cylinder? |
