 Topic: AC model C blowing out oil

So I replaced the cylinder o rings and piston rings, put everything back together, and started her up… runs good but blowing oil out of the hole on the bottom of the bell … any ideas?

bellhousing ??.......... What is inside there is the crank shaft rear seal... and the WICK in the center of the crank shaft that allowed oil it drip outside for lube...
guess it could be the back end of the cam shaft / pump drive area ??
Either way, its behind the clutch.... and need to split tractor. |

Did you replace the wick in the crankshaft? Did you prepare and properly install the rear main seal? Where in Maryland are you?

Oil out bottom hole of bellhousing?
Assuming engine and not trans oil... 3 typical possibilities.
#1 crankshaft rear main seal is leaking.
#2 oil pump located on back of engine block is leaking.
#3 Both #2 and #3.
You'll need to split the tractor to do the repair(s) no matter the cause.

I thought it was the rear main seal and I replace the seal…must be the oil pump… I am on the lower Shore…thanks, guys, for the replies!

Seal or wick would normally be a drip... very slow, or if really bad possibly a constant drip... If you have a stream, its the pump or the pipe screwed into it... pipe sticks out the top of the bell housing... hard to look around it, but see if you have any oil coming out of the pipe threads at the pump.

Took the motor out today and found that the 1/8” nipple had split, like the last one. I guess when I put the motor in the nipple was bumped, even though I thought I was careful. Got a longer nipple, put the motor in and then screwed in the nipple…everything back running well now… thanks, guys, for the help!
