I just found out you can't use a IPad to log in.  Sorry
I have a 1960's D motor grader. We think it has about a 65 HP gas engine, 4 cyl.
The timing gear went out and they want almost $900 for the two gears.
I would like to put a diesel in it.  What kind of diesel can I buy that would fit.
Also where do you find one.
Thanks

The D grader uses the 226 gas engine common to the popular D17 and 175 farm tractors. There should be used parts and even used engines available for less trouble and cost than trying to switch to a diesel engine. The diesel engine used for these same farm tractors was used in the DD graders but the engine is slightly longer so some modifications are still required. Try posting on the farm equipment section for your timing gears. Did the timing gears break because of a governor weight failure?

Lots of good 226 engines available out of Gleaner E combines.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed
