 Topic: AC 175D photo, fresh paint now!

Got my first ever fresh painted AC tractor, nice birthday present! What do ya think? Like Eldon, the 175's are my favorite! A friend of mine that used to run a body shop did the work, wish I could learn to do that. He used the Car Quest Pro Acrylic Enamel. I ordered decals from Lyle Wacker. We found the tractor about 6mi from the NC Alantic Coast, so lots of serious saltwater rust damage. It was a High Crop. Anyone help me find a set of cultivators for it?
Had to hurry, another storm coming. I'll try to post a 'Before' photo below, and send more photos later?

Lookin' good! The storm makes a pretty backdrop - thought you must have set it up that way. Very nice looking tractor.

Looks great, but a few errors, hubs on front should be cream, air intake pipe(black), and decals should not extend on to grill, 175's are a great tractor,you'll love it. my mint original 175 is so nice I'm scared to use it. Some sweet AC classic styling, its what made AC so great.

Looks great Bruce! Clean your shop out, I can show you how to spray paint good enough to get by. By the time you finish your first paint job, you'll have it figured out.

Thanx fellows for the comments! The gentleman that painted and fixed metal for me had never done a tractor before (said he'd probably never do another one)..ha! He had decided to paint the hubs orange, ect., and I see what you mean with the decals now!
He painted the headlight covers, muffler, instrument cover,and inside toolbox with black truckbed liner paint for durability. I bought some 'hammered silver' for rear rims, some of you had recommended.
When did this tractor originate and end with the 'Crop Hustler' decal? (I didn't get one in the Decal set from Lyle Wacker) This one is a '74 model.
I do love the 'high crop' , came with 15.5 x 38" tires if I remember correctly. It's tall to step up on, but seems to 'out-pull' my other 175D with 28" tires. Does that sound right to ya'll?
I mostly cut & bale sq and rd bales with the tractor. Gonna be tough to start using it again now, ha!
I would love to find a two or even better 4 row cultivator for it? Any suggestions where or who to ask?

i also have another question for all the people on here. did they offer different front axle configurations for the 175, looking throughout the internet i have found most of then have what i would call a reversed front axle like this one. but i found sum that had a front axle that looked like the ones on 170's. is this true did they offer different axles? and my next question does anyone have the air precleaner and piping assy that goes to the air filter housing on a 180D i wnat to put one on mine and am looking for one.

I hope my 175 looked that good. I have a question for some of you expert AC people. My 175 has a CROP HUSTLER decal on each side panel. What is the difference in it and a 175 without this decal? Mine is a diesel with 5400 hours and still runs fine.

Did the 100 series not get 38" rims except for special high clearance versions?

I'll try to answer some of the questions here...
Rick: 38" tires were optional - don't think many were sold. Unfortunately, the majority still had 28" tires (16.9 or 18.4).
Dan: Crop Hustler was a phrase coined my AC's marketing department to emphasize the concept of farming a gear faster. There was nothing really different about the tractor itself.
Josh: Regarding the axle configurations. One-seventy models had the axle support extend to a hanger on the torque tube (much like D17s). Newer 170 and 175s have the axle shown in the picture. About the air cleaner on the hood, that is optional, but any tractor (even the 180) can have one mounted on the hood with a rubber tube that connects it to the air filter assembly in front of the rad. I think the precleaners are pretty easy to find, although I have never bought one for myself.
