I am haveing trouble with mechanical controlled pto on an agco allis 6690 does anyone on here know what the problem could be that the pto shaft does not turn?

Make sure the lever above and to left of the PTO shaft is pushed forward for 540 or pulled back for 1000 rpm.  Also a light on the dash will show if it is either in 540 or 1000 and I think there is also a neutral position

That part works 540 economy and 1000 light also works! It's the mechanical control lever on the other side that turns it on or off that doesn't seem to be working! I've been and haven't got the pan under the seat off yet to see what make things tick. Parts book doesn't make it clear on wheather the switch under there on manual control lever linkage works a solenoid or just a safety light! If you pull the PTO lever the light comes on on the dash but PTO doesn't turn!
