I came across a posting on craigslist for two AC items that I was interested in. I called the person and he was about 65 miles away. The items seemed like a great deal but I was carefull to write down all very detailed information because of the mileage. I drove all the way to check it out and was very p*ssed to say the least. He sold one item already without calling me first as I asked and the other item was total junk. Nothing matched what he told me on the phone. Ryan

If you want to dance, you gotta pay the piper. This goes with the territory when looking for bargains.Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't.Chaulk it up to experience. You'll have better days.

I can't say how much time I've wasted looking at equipment. My deffinition of nice, or straight and complete and someones are totally different.
Whenever I sell an ite, I really try to represent it for what it is, or less than what it is. It's a much better feeling when someone is totally happy and honest with you.
I bought some engines a couple weeks agoe from a fellow, he said he didn't know the condition of one of them and I took a chance on it. Complete junk, and once the snow melted off and I took it apart, there were verry few pan bolts, no rod bolts, the cylinder heas has been off, no gasket. You bet he didn't know the condition, it has been apart, found burnt rods and a cracked block. Cam was flat. On the bright side I got a good cam gear, oil pump and 2 rods..... what a deal.
We pay our money and take our chances.

Look on the bright side.
It was a nice day for a drive and you got out of the house for awhile. Sing this song on your next buying trip. There's a dark & a troubled side of life There's a bright, there's a sunny side, too Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife The sunny side we also may view Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side, Keep on the sunny side of life It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way If we'll keep on the sunny side of life The storm and its fury broke today, Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear; Clouds and storms will, in time, pass away The sun again will shine bright and clear. Let us greet with the song of hope each day Tho' the moment be cloudy or fair Let us trust in our Saviour away Who keepeth everyone in His care. Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side, Keep on the sunny side of life It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way If we'll keep on the sunny side of life. |

Brother and I were looking to buy a tractor with a loader on it a couple years ago that was not far from me. The owner was helping someone to load a flatbed for a 1ton that was stuck in the snow. It was also froze down quite well. We watched the guy beat on the tractor for almost an hour trying to get the truckbed loose. When he finally got it out of the frozen ground he tried lifting the bed up but couldn't because he had beat the loader so bad that the pump was either going bad or the seals were leaking internally. He couldn't figure out why we did not want to buy the tractor anymore. Some people just don't get it!
