I'm trying to adjust the valve clearances in the 2.9 diesel engine.There are marks for timing injection pump but I can't find TDC marks

When both rockers are moving on a cylinder adj the valves on the companion cyl.

this is a rebuilt head so not near original setting. can't find TDC only setting from injection pump. Which I think is 22 degress BTDC. I tried adjusting 1235 then turn crank 180 degrees adjust 4678 but 5 was loose enough to fall away from pushrod. then tried 360 degrees then 2 others were loose. Really at a lose!

Ideally you do each cyl on tdc...both valves closed and "loose". You got to be smart enough to know how to get there.
