Yup and Yup. Been there and dun that. BUT, the front mounting plate has to be from the correct vintage engine so it matches your injection pump mounting area. There are two different ones. Early F-2 engines are different that later engines and so are the older 190/190XT engines versus later ones like from a newer 190/190XT and 185-200.

Does your F-2 injection pump mounting flange bolt DIRECTLY to the front plate?? or is there a 1/2" thick aluminum spacer in-between. Direct bolt would be later model. Spacer is older model. If you have a salvage yard that will let you look, I'd take the old parts with you to make sure they match.

Thank you for your help . My F2 injection pump bolts directly to the front plate. So what series 190 XT do I need to get a front cover and pump from?

Series 3 for sure. Without the spacer plate, the pumps driveshaft hole in the front engine plate is only about an 1" or 1 1/4" in diameter. The older engines have about a 2 1/2" hole. Is your injection pump retained to the front plate with two 3/8" NF studs and nuts/washers ?? located at 12 noon and 6 pm.

Then, that is the OLD setup I'm pretty sure. It will have a pretty large hole in the front plate. Definitely before 1972 and probably before 1970. Get a timing cover for the same age engine or better yet from the same engine.

The DB2 on an F2/F3, 6060/6080 is the same bolt pattern as the little aluminum adapter used on the earlier 190's and other 301's that used the adapter and the long shaft, they also use a flat gear. The later 301's that had the pump bolt right to the plate use the shorter more common shaft, and have a deep dish offset gear.
