have a 840 b wheel loader that we changed motor and hydraulic pump on. Also changed transmission fluid. Now it will not pull itself up any grade until it gets warmed up. say about 10 to 15 mins of run time.
what fluid should I have used in it ?
 THANKS for any info. Jerry

Jerry:  the information on the hydraulic fluid should be covered in the 840 Articulated Loader Operators Manual Form SV-112B - Part No 1012879-1.  Unfortunately, I don't have that in doc. in my periodical library.

If the fluid is not the problem, it might be good to start with a clutch pressure check or could be also worn splines on the Torque Converter Pump drive, flex drive plate failure or low  clutch pressure which would occur as a result of a weak regulator valve spring or regulator spool sticking.   The later could be remedied through removal and cleaning possibly.

The Service Manual for the AC 840 wheel loader is form No. ISM-17 and part number 1013042-5.

pretty sure it is good. Just for the info how do you check the fluid level? I was told to use Dextron ATF . Right or wrong??
I will check fluid when I get by the loader this week.
 Thanks, Jerry

Thanks for the info, When I get back to the loader I will do some more checks and see where things are. Where can I get a service manual for it?
 Thanks again
