I need a dipper cylinder for the boom it blew the cap off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know of any bone yards that would have it. I tried general gear but their machine is a 715b nothing is the same.

Are you sure - I have a AC 615 cylinder now on my 715B .
You should be able to repair the cylinder by having a new end cap made or try MINNPAR to see if they have the part . The other option would be to make a retainer to clamp or weld to cylinder body then using a plate and bolts to anchor end cap to retainer .
On one cylinder i had where threads were damaged I cut the cylinder off about 1/4" which allowed the end cap to grab good threads by moving further up threaded area .

I found a place online that I can get a new end cap so I think I am going to have a machine shop make a new barrel. I want to do it right and not have to do it twice. I only asked on here to see if anyone had a cylinder or knew of a place that may have 1. I'm not a dumb kid I don't really appreciate the insult. I actually just got done rebuilding 4 cylinders by myself. I have 10 allis chalmers tractor's I'm not new to working on equipment.

Why replace the barrel ?  It seems the threads in the cast end cap are the ones that get worn - After I repaired that cylinder and it has only ran for 20 years now .
But I had this thing of how much do I spend to how can I repair it myself - finances said fix it myself .

I was hoping it was just the cap but the threads on the barrel are stripped beyond use actually both the cap and the barrel are stripped.
