Does anyone know the dates the 82R 7 ft. sickle mower was available and was it also offered as a snap coupler?

82's approximate production run was 1964?-1975. Trail type, rear mount(3 pt hitch) and side mount. Probably wouldn't be hard to adapt it for SC...Wink

As I remember, 82R was rear mount (3 pt. or snap coupler), 82T was trail type, and 82S was side mount. Hope this helps

The 80 series never mounted In the bell. You removed the drawbar and mounted a mounting bracket where the drawbar bail mounted.               MACK

The 82R was referred to by Allis as a "semi-mounted" mower. It was equipped with a tail wheel and was 3PH mounted. I don't believe it was ever available in a snap-coupler version.
Like was said above, with a little imagination and some skill I'm sure it could be turned into a snap-coupler implement.

That's the method we had for mounting to our D17.
It was fully loaded.





The heavy bracket could be struggle to get in place.  (Dad always let me mount the mower..)
And when done mowing and having removed the bracket; a pain to get the drawbar back in place. 
Had to get down low on the ground, grab the whole drawbar assembly and slam it into the SC bell.

According to the AC Parts Books, the D19 used a different bracket.

IMO, the mower frame was on the light side......could've used heavier construction.

I think the #7 mower may be the only Allis mower that used the "Snap-Coupler feature. 
The # 7 was of the "Twin-Wheel" design and the predecessor of all the 80 series mowers.

There's a big difference between the 80R and 82R mowers.
