I am trying to get my 8070 put back together, and have a couple questions. First off, I am not the one who took it apart, so that's one draw back, and secondly, It's got a 7580 engine in it instead of the 8070 engine, so there are a few minor differences. One question is, "What is the solonoid above the starter (not the one on the starter) for?" It looks as if it was used for something on the 7580 that the engine came out of, and perhaps is not needed on the 8070. Next question is about the wiring on the right hand side of the engine. In that harness, the longest wire, and the only one that I am sure about, goes to the alternator. The wires in question are red wire with a black plastic housing for a spade terminal; a black wire with a white stripe that has a small eyelet on the end; a green wire with a white stripe that has a rubber cap with a spade inside of it on the end; and a yellow wire and a black wire that come together into one black plastic housing with 2 terminals in it. I know that one of the wires has to go to the oil pressure sender (and I assume the oil pressure senders are different between the 7580 and the 8070, so I ordered one for an 8070), but the rest of the wires, I am not sure about. I did look at a parts book of the wiring on agcopartsbooks.com, and they made reference to one of the wires going to an electric fuel shut off solonoid, which 8070's didn't have, so that would make this an extra wire in most cases. In my situation, though, it would be a good thing, because I still have the 7580 roosa pump, and I am putting an electric shut-off on it. Any one know anything about these wires? Sorry about how long winded I got. Thanks, Darrel

Spade with round rubber cap is oil pressure sender.  Harness was made to work with two types of alternators, so you will only use some of the wires for your particular alternator and leave the others loose.
The innovators offer what others will imitate.

Solonoid Is a relay for the starter. There is a voltage lose to starter solonoid after going through safty switches and connections, so with a relay to feed the starter solonoid there is more voltage to engauge starter solonoid.  MACK
