Think I need to pull sleeve out of flow divider because of sluggish steering. It wasn't this way til I ran low on hyd fluid when remote cyl hose sprung leak and I was unaware. How much oil is going to run out without draining it? I'm guessing only what's in the gear pump but don't know. Advice welcomed.

You won't lose much oil by taking it out.

Dropping the auxiliary fuel tank was the messy part for me. BTDT. I was told to clean the barrel up good.
