I just purchased a 82' 8070 and gonna build it to farm stock or maybe hot farm. Does anyone know of another 8000 series puller that I can get some ideas from? I am torn on how to remove the cab, whether to remove everything or just cut off everything but the steering column, floor and fenders. Also would like to get ideas on fabing the wheelie bars on the 8070.
Any pics, help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I got to get her to at least 12,000lbs. I weighed it today and it's 18,650lbs!! She gonna have to go on major diet! However it has rear cast wheels, full set of rear wheel weights (6), cab, fluid in rear tires. I'm also removing lift arms, AC compressor, hydraulic cooler and anything else I can cut loose.

find a 210 tranny rear end to put under it...and save your self tons of time, money and energy and weight... and clutch issues.
if rules allow - or a 7010 ...if not...

If it was my project, I'd lift off the cab and NOT destroy it !! Not too tough to fabricate a pair of fenders and a diamond plate floor deck and a seat to sit on. Floor shifter from a 7040. Floor shift range trans, etc.

Pull the cab off. Not only are you saving the cab but think of all the weight your saving too.

I could only get my 8050 down to 11600 with cab on, your 8070 has heavier axels and planetaries.

Yeah, we are gonna just pull off the cab and see what we got to work with. I'm also needing some 22" x 38" 10 Bolt rims and hubs if you know of any around.
