My power director in my 8050 is getting weak, not shifting correct under load. After i split it and take it out, how hard is it to rebuild? 6500 hours and never been worked on.
Thanks, Randy

Put a new limiter in 3 years ago.
Thought when i split it i would see whats up. Thought i would rebuild the power director and replace the limiter while it was apart.

When the tractor is under load, pulling a field cultivator, and try to shift up, it hesitates to go into high range. Ground speed does not change and i went back to low range and no problems. I tried to shift it a couple of times and decided not to use any more.
My 8070 did the same thing and when i had the power director rebuilt it was fixed. I dont have a dealer close buy that is familar with the 8000 series, so i was wondering if i could do it myself. Thanks, Randy

The amount of time it takes is the big thing. If you are a full time farmer, do you have a couple weeks in your schedule to pull wrenches?

Cleaning and inspection of the gerotor pump (transmission pump) suction screen might reveal some brass filings from clutch discs, which would mean a split/teardown is in order.
