My 8050 has a short in the field lights. The flashers work and the flashers and road lights work but when you put the switch to the field (flood) position after a few seconds the circut breaker pops and the lights go out.

my 7080 field lights (stadium lights) would work for awhile, then go out, after the switch cooled down (got so hot you couldn't touch it) they would come back on! replaced the switch and it's the same thing! pffft!

If you unplug all of the lights on the circuit and unplug the harness before it goes up the cab post you can verify a short with an ohm meter. You should not have resistance from the wire to ground.
You will have to remove the roof to access the harness in the cab if it is shorted in the post or top of cab.

It may be as easy as anything to just use the existing wires to pull new wires down through the post and be done with it.

Removing the roof won't gain access to any wiring. I found out the hard way on a hot day after removing all 18

The wires are in a loom going up the right post so I couldn't pull just the light wires. It looks like above the lights there is some access panels? We found out the hard way there isn't access after the roof comes off. LOL We'll get back to it this weekend. Thanks!

There are 2 blue wires going up the post. There is a plug at the top I had to put a splice in one to bypass the plug.
