How are the extended front drive axles configured on the 8000 series Allis tractors? I saw one on tractor house that looks to be stretched ahead a good foot or so. Don't like the looks of it but the ride must be great. I noticed on mine there appears to be flanges cast into the front bolster for a second pivot but wasn't sure if it was for the two wheel drive axle or what?

Im assuming you are talking about the MFWD tractors. It is actually rather simple. You unbolt front axle from under engine frame rails and slide it ahead drill new holes in desired position. ONly complications are is to have someone make a new longer driveshaft. This is the most limiting cause that shaft turns at pretty good speeds at roadspeed. If you go the full foot you have have a larger diameter driveshaft to handle the rpms and length.
