Hi guys I have a 715b backhoe with a 2534 serial number but I don't know what year it is, so I can get the correct books on it .im having a problem with the injector pump leaking on the throttle rod any sugestions... I think there must be a o ring inside but don't know if it can be fixed without removing the pump. thanks for any help

Your 715B is a 1979.  The engine is a 236 Perkins. Parts are readily available for the engine from any Massey dealer. I've had a 1981 715B since 1987 and a 715 before that.
They are a very good realiable machine.

I have a parts catalog for a 1982 .... is the will this be the same for a 1979? thanks for all the help.it looks like just the o rings on the injector pump accelerator rod that are leaking wondering if there is a kit for just that or does the whole pump have to come of . thanks for the info Joe

To my knowledge there were no changes in the 715B's throughout their production so your 1982 book will be good. My 715B rests for the winter and has been a farm machine after years of digging silo foundations. The engine is getting very tired. The best way to start it in cold weather is to have a block heater. A LITTLE starting fluid is also very effective in these engines.

Plan on a can of starting spray for any time it is cold ,
If you can plug it in it helps also but many times mine was some where power wasn't handy

Sales literature does not list the weight but my guess is close to 12,000 lbs.

According to the owners manual, the weight with the 7/8 loader, 24 inch backhoe bucket, and 11L-16 front and 16.9-24 rear tires, the shipping wt is listed as approximately 13,000. It appears that this is foe an open canopy.
