Just found out that the torque converter as well as the fwd/rev section used by AC, units used in the construction machines also was used in  MARINE use by others .
A torque converter is one common part as is the clutch pack itself
Has a large spectrum of different power units that used this common application .
I know a while back someone was searching for a torque converter - and it seems no outfit dealing with construction equipment had one - now evidently there is another source to look for parts outside the common sources one thinks of .

Now thinking back to when i was in the Navy and aboard a Carrier - there were several 40' motor launch boats aboard - using Detroit 6-71 power units and a fwd/reverse unit as well as torque converter involved .
