I found this on CL, https://southjersey.craigslist.org/grd/6981580009.html Has anyone ever re-powered one of these using a BS opposed twin? I've got a good used motor here just sitting on the shelf and figured the 7114 may be a good home for it even if I just use it for yard work and pulling a trailer around.

I'd snag it for $50 and have another 'Winter project'....

I took the drive down there Wed, turns out he had a few tractors for sale. I ended up coming home with what I think is a complete 7116. Its got a red hood with no decals. Its definitely a 7100 series, just not sure which model it started life as. Its got a 16hp cast iron Briggs, (gear starter version), and a set of tire chains. Its going to need a battery and a carb clean but I was able to run it on a can of carb spray and a jump start when I got home. Its got to be one of the cleanest tractors I've had, no rust, perfect steering, a good seat, four rot free tires, and even decent paint. It didn't have a deck but its got a rear hitch and lift, and I bought a complete snow plow set up for it from another seller for $75 on my way home. I have a guy coming tomorrow to buy the 16 BS twin, selling that will offset half of what I spent. He had about a dozen Simplicity machines there, and a few green one's too. Some with motors, some without. The 7114 was nice, but I figured why mess with making something fit when for a little more cash I have something that's nearly turn key for $500. I figure I'd have spent that much in time alone just making the 16 twin fit the other tractor, only to have something that likely wouldn't be sell-able down the road having a retro fit engine in it without the ability to use many front PTO drive accessories. |

I've started eliminating projects, stopped 'fixin and flippin' and don't repair machine for others...still have too much on my plate AND Mr. Sun doesn't get here til AFTER 7.... sniff.
