Got a cracked exhaust manifold.  Will it hurt anything to work it for a while?  I realize I can be running a little low on turbo if it leaks bad enough.  Will it hurt anything else?

When I got the tractor 10 years ago, that section of the exhaust manifold had been changed, because it is marked "AC 7030".  It's the center section.  Is this a prevalent problem I'm wondering?  Not that I can really do much about that, just curious.

Dreaming of getting a little tillage in before the ground freezes.  A guy can dream.

Won't hurt anything. Crack may close a little with heat. My 220 has cracked center section under turbo for 30+ yrs

Thanks guys.  Yeah, it does close some when warmed up, of course it smokes a lot less when warmed up too!

Never have had this happen on a tractor that I remember, so wasn't sure.

Thanks again.

My 7040 had the same problem. I found a good center section from a boneyard. It ran fine as it was but I couldn't take the exhaust leak sound.

We use heat shield and a couple of hose clamps... also there were 2 different manifolds, one with out a metal like square seal ring - the earlier one had none and did not have the machined area o accept it.
