I am helping a friend change what he thought were the pto seals. Found out that the 1000rpm shaft had broke. We had trouble removing the bearing on the end of the shaft. Are they normally a tight fit or will they slide off? What is the best way to remove it? Thanks.

Don't know if inner or outer shaft broke, bur if inner shaft is OK, use a slide hammer In bolt holes. They are usually tight. MACK

It is the inner shaft that broke. Will have to get a slide hammer attached to the broken piece. Thanks.

I was able to drop the broken shaft out the bottom after taking the 540 gear and stub shaft out on 8030
