In the water pump volute there is only room for 1 o-ring for the water tube to slide into, but the parts book breakdown shows 2. What am I missing fellas. Manual says to put on the tube and slide in but I'd think it would be easier to install in the volute first, any pointers.

Kinda remember what yer saying about 2 but it only uses one on each end and they go inside in the groove then the pipe is slipped in. (this is on an 8070 but I think the same) I used a little silicone grease on the oring and tube. Right or wrong.
Went and looked...same for 7040 and 8070. Both take two 70923621 orings on tube. One per end. Parts books for '40 shows 2 at front of tube in pic and '70 book shows one. Both say in description 2 required. 70923684 is oring between volute and block. You wouldn't guess it from the picture. HTH Edited by SteveM C/IL - 09 Dec 2023 at 10:49pm |
