While hooking our 7040PD tp the disk yesterday the clutch pedal would hang down not engaging you had to pull it up to get the tractor to move. The cable is free is there a valve that could be sticking, or another problem?

I am pretty sure the spring is not broke the clutch pedal is hard to push down and about the same pulling back up, It will come back up trying to start off in a low gear quicker than a high gear.

a pedal that is hard to push is most often a bad cable and or bad bushings on the pivot pin of the clutch valve. remove the left hand panel by the clutch pedal to see it better. take the cable off and check bushings at the valve. the pedal should work ok up and down with spring returning the pedal
