Recently started my 7040 to move it, fired right up and ran peefecr per usual. After several minutes idling it just died instantly. Fuel Guage read about 1/4 and I am 99% it had fuel but I put about 25 gallon s or so in it but filters etc were empty while trying to bleed system realized I was not getting fuel to the filter. Disconnected the hose from auxiliary tank to filter and nothing when held above the frame rail but runs full stream when held lower. Is this line pressurized from the fuel itself or ???. I have blown air back through the hose into the tank and nothing changes I am stumped. TIA

The early 7040's drew fuel up thru a small plastic standpipe to the top of the LEFT tank and then it was plastic line to the fuel filter. Every one I was ever around got changed over to the updated lower hose draw which solved a lot of issues like that.

Yes mine has a rubber hose from auxiliary tank up to the filter housing, I can get a full flow of fuel if I disconnect that hose and hold it level or lower than the outlet of the tank, anything above that.and nothing so absolutely no fuel is getting to the filter or any point beyond that. Am I missing something?? An in tank pump or ??

Your hand primer pump isn't working correctly. It should pull fuel from the tank, to the injection pump, and keep it there, regardless of the amount in the tank. The plunger seal may be bad or a check valve could be stuck.
