Hey guys, I am looking at buying a 7020 with a rod hanging out of the block. I have zero experiance with this model, all my 7000 series experiance is with the 7030 and above. How hard is it to find a block for these. Is the 301 block the same casting as used in the 190s? 7000s? 7010s? Others? If there are differences what are they?
Thanks, Anthony

7020 will have a 649I block, which should be the same as the 649T. That means a 7010 block will work. The biggest thing is the piston oil squirters. One thing, however, is that my 2900 MKII block in my 7000 black belly (79 model) had the oil squirters machined into the block, but had main bearings without the slot/groove to feed the oil squirters. You also need a block with a crank driven oil pump. I'm not sure what other difference in just the block there are after that.
