My local independent tractor shop called today. They have a 7010 with a cracked head in for repair. It has the copper injector sleeves. Engine rebuilder guy suggested looking for the older style head. Has anyone done this swap? They know that the injector lines will be different. Will the injector pump work okay with either type of injectors ?
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Pump and injection lines will work, but you will have to have the injectors reconfigured for the early style nozzle and nut. A 7010 may have AC holders, or may have Bosch/AmBosch holders. I'm not sure what all on the engine will need changed.

If i remember correctly, the injectors are the only thing you will need to change. I did this conversion to a 7000 ,  years ago.

Ed, many years ago I think it was Columbus diesel, had nuts for the two Bosh Inj that would allow for the changing of tips/nut or maybe just nut to allow swapping from the tapered nut to the flat style that used the copper washer for sealing in the non copper tube head.  Then I tried again and they said they were discontinued - you have any sources for these?
