I am pretty sure the transmission brake on my 7000 black belly is decentigrating and that is what the chunks I have found in the oil pan during my transmission fluid changes have been from. I am wondering how hard it is to get to the brake and replace it? Also, is there anything else that can come apart that is hard fiberous material? Nothing slips in the transmission or PTO. PTO brake works fine. Also, is this a transmission brake for a 7000? http://cgi.ebay.com/ALLIS-CHALMERS-7000-TRACTOR-NOS-TRANS-PTO-BRAKE-PAD_W0QQitemZ220516130185QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3357c91d89 I couldn't find it in the AGCO partsbooks and the pictures won't work on Vista...Hurst

remove the fuel tank, remove the pin that holds the brake shaft in the housing. slide the shaft out. remove the vale plate on the right side of the trans, slide the pin to the front then the brake will slide out. not very hard to do.

Adam the brake is on the rear of the counter shaft of the trans on the 7045. the book tells you to split the tractor to replace the brake. it can be replaced by removing the hydraulic pumps and reaching in and removing the brake. toy almost need a u shaped arm to do this. I have done it .
