We never had anything newer than our 190XT on our farm thus I am not that familiar with the 7000 series tractors. I have quite a large collection of 1/64 scale ACs but do not yet own any maroon belly 7000 series tractors. In the interest of historical accuracy, which of the 7000 series tractor models including the 7580/8550 were ever produced by AC with the maroon belly? Thanks.

7000, 7030, 7040, 7050, 7060, 7080, 7580, and the 8550. I don't know of any others, but the first 7030's and 7050's had black paint on the upper halves on the front of the cabs. The front window area on each side of center leaned out at the top. I kind of liked the look of these early cabs better, but I think it made the cab noise a lot louder.

Wow, I did not realize it was that many. Glad I asked. I knew that the first 2 (7030 and 7050) were maroon belly but thought they went to black pretty soon after when others were introduced. I was uncertain about the 7580 but felt certain that the 8550 was black only too. So, it looks like the 7010, 7020, and 7045 were the only models actually produced as black belly only?

Here’s a breakdown of the 7000 series models & their maroon belly years produced;
1973-75’ 7030 & 7050. Late74-77’ 7040,7060,7080. 1975-77’ 7000. 1976-77’ 7580. Year(s) Model(s) By the end of 1975, the 7030,7050 were no longer made. Also, the 7040 ended in 1977. So during the 1978-81’ era, all the remaining models still being made (7000, 7060,7080,7580,8550), in addition, the newest 1978 models (7020,7045) & 1979 model 7010, all received the black belly paint scheme. The exception: Although the model 8550 debuted in 1977, it was always a black belly. Only it’s 1976 prototype models were maroon belly. Edited by AC7060IL - 05 Mar 2020 at 12:38am |

Also the black belly model sported Corporate Orange rather than Persian No 2. And I think the white changed then too
