I have a customer who owns an Allis Chalmers 700-D Rough Terrain Forklift. It has the engine serial no of 85130L. I need to know Engine Make, Engine Model, and Horsepower. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure the "D"-series was the Allis-Chalmers 433-T or 433-TI  4 cylinder turbo diesel.   Should be an engine tag plate under the thermostat housing on what would be the left side of the engine if it was in a car.

Well, I think the best thing for you to do is give us some pictures of the machine and the engine from several angles.

The 700 "D"-series consisted of models 705-706-708 and 766. They all have the Allis-Chalmers 433-T 4 cylinder turbocharged engine which would have been very similar to the 6060 farm tractor engine and rated at probably 80 to 85 flywheel HP.

Sounds like your 700D may have a Perkins 4.236 Diesel engine? Perkins uses letters in their serial numbers to denote engine type, engine’s country origin mfg, & engine year mfg. If it’s a Perkins, it probably has another number directly above it’s serial number.

I'm thinking he has a 700-Diesel, not a 700-D series.    A model 700 would be a Perkins, yes.

That should be a Perkins engine. That isn't the newest (and last) "D"-series that were turbo diesel only. It's an older version and is a "D" designation because it's a diesel not a gas engine.
