making good progress on the rebuild- short block assembled, head will complete this week, injectors, tips bench dialed in- now onto the injection pump.
seems that somewhere it the past the original pump was replaced with a similar John deere version, without going into too much model # detail- the spec DB pump had .37 dia. injector pistons, and the JDB pump has .31 dia i am in process of reconditioning this pump and wonder if it would be good idea to set the roller to roller dimension to max fuel delivery to make up the difference in the injector piston size? not having alot of experience with diesels- is it safer to be fuel rich on the initial start-up? any thoughts or life experiences are welcome and greatly appreciated according to the manual the spec pump is DBGFC437-7-AG the installed pump is JBD431MD3027 research shows this pump was used on a naturally aspirated 219CI 62HP the 615 backhoe had the D2200 200CI, 56HP naturally aspirated so the motor specs are not too different. So, by those specs, the fuel delivery is enough to make 6 more HP than original. What is the rated RPM's difference ?? 2200 rated speed on the AC engine? and 2400 ?????? for the Deere ?

I apologize for the delayed response, world is kinda crazy right now. I believe the rated rpm is 2500, posting a pic Got the motor back together today, just waiting on a couple of injection pump parts. Having trouble locating a throttle lever fork.any suggestions? |

The internal fork that compresses the governor spring ?? Should be a pretty common part as far as old RoosaMaster pumps go. I'm sure the one from your old pump would work. I've probably got one from a core pump in my garage.

Doc,
Yes , the throttle fork on the governor is the piece I'm looking for. As you can see, one of the forks is busted I only have the one pump. If you do have one l, let's talk Fabricated a starter mount to spin the motor on the stand As lot easier to set pump timing on the stand before we should ed horn this back in the tractor. |
