Will a 6080 with the thrust bearing stand up to heavy PTO work?I am thinking of putting it on a 15 foot batwing mower which can drive hard in thick ,fine grass. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

15 footer could be a mite much hog for a 6080, I can "lay down" my 7020 with a 12 footer in big stuff.

It depends on what you're mowing. We use a 3240 20ft HD woods batwing on our Ford 6610 (72 PTO HP), but you better be just trimming a pretty flat pasture when using that tractor, or you won't be mowing much fast. I think a 15 ft batwing would be a good fit behind an 80ish PTO hp tractor in most field conditions.

Using the PTO don't hurt the thrust bearing, it's using it with the PTO lever on your right side pulled back for long time. When PTO is not being used disconnect PTO lever on left and engauge the one on right. MACK |
