I have a 6080.  It was running fine, under power, but then began losing power slowly until he engine died.  Two minutes or so later, it started again, but soon repeated the power loss and failure.  After this happened twice, I verified that fuel was flowing unrestricted to the fuel filter.  I replaced the filter, but engine would not start.  I then bled the sytem of air, and I have confirmed there is free flow of fuel to the air release valve on the fuel injector, but the engine will not start.

I realize now that bleeding air from the fuel filter and at the connection to the injection was should have occurred before trying to restart.  I don't now if that in itself may now be part of the problem.

I am dead in the field now.  Advise will be greatly appreciated.  My phone number is 816-560-9002 if conversation may be preferable to written suggestions.

Sounds like the symptoms of the elastomer governor going to pieces plugging the return line. I don't know if that pump has it. Some versions don't. Loosen the 2 screws holding the timing window so it can bleed off pressure and see if it runs.
