I am trying to get a good guess on weight for a 500 loader with a 5 foot bucket. I think 1,000 lbs., anyone care to improve my guess, please?

I feel you are right there, or within a couple hundred pounds. I ran up to KS and picked up a 519 a few years ago and we removed the larger material bucket as it would not allow the loader lengthwise on my single axle trailer. Ford "1/2 ton" double cab 2wd Flex Fuel POS def. new it was there on the way home but I did not consider that thing a real truck. While handling during rebuild, I could push/pull the boom (without cylinders) around the shop by hand by myself. Frame mounts do not weigh much but cylinders are hefty.
You may want to add a few hundred pounds, to be safe . . .

Here is a page from a 460 loader owners manual.  It say's it will add 1750 lbs to the front wheels?  I could not find any specs on total dry weight.
