Looks like a 2 row cornstalk chopper to me
sometimes I walk out to my shop and look around and think "Who's the idiot that owns this place?"

We have the 172 at the farm with a beefed gearbox/clutch , it is super heavy duty with laminate tires and dual knives. I will put that A/C brush hog against any other its size, the back panel is off.....so I can back over " large hedge trees".

The problem with so many ads is the owners have no idea how to take a picture.

These used to be really common down here in Oklahoma, but haven't seen one in quite a-while, but they were heck-for-stout and would really take a beating...

Notice the hand crank at the rear for height adjustment ? When ours was new, that was how it was , and , we liked it ! We have hydraulics  for probably 35 years. Also, look how the bias tires are flipped to the center of the mower, you would never , ever get close to a fence, tree, barn whatever, but, you could pull it around all by yourself because it would be perfectly balanced. and you never had to use the hydraulics because it was also perfectly centered. Our laminate tires are flipped to the back and turned toward the inside to allow closer mowing around fences etc. But, the trade off is that it is lifted with a bottle jack under the tongue because of the wheels turned back, it  would take more than 2 men and a boy !!!

There is a 160 and 172 made by Danuser in Oklahoma for A-C. I have a 160 snap coupler. The parts listing on Agco shows them together. Whatever the differences are you must have to look close to find them. According to Sandy Lake, the shaft seals and the pins and springs I need to fix the overrunning clutch are still available.

Auntwayne, hear is my 172 with the wheels on side.Previous owner welded angle iron in front of wheels so mower slides around trees ,fence posts stumps.Very well balanced and not much of an issue getting close where I am mowing.Have thought about moving to rear but that hitch gets heavy and is hard on the drawbar. If unit wasn't so heavy I would try to convert to 3pt. or SC hitch. So far gear box is holding up doing what I want with it.

I've got a 3 pt. 5' Allis Brush Hog that I'll have up for sale soon...don't know exactly when or a price yet,but there's not many around these parts. They're a real heavy duty brush hog though. I bought (2) bolts and nuts brand new from Agco for mounting the blades that cost me around 150.00 alone, but I guess at least some parts are still available.  Rick

I would like to find a SC and 3 pt hitch for them. My 3 pt has some farmer installed parts. I would buy the SC or 3 pt hitch or mower complete. Thanks Tracy Martin
