I saw a M farmall with a 5.9 12v a while back. Made me want to put one in mine. I would think if you used an early non-turbo ( or maybe they weren't inter-cooled) 5.9 it would be good in a D-17 or 19.

I used fordcummins.com for my swap. Another company called destroked does the same thing. Im not sure about now,but a few years ago they were more expensive at destroked as compared to fordcummins.

I know of a 8050 and a 7580 both with 8.3 Cummins installed with the Hunley kit. Both owners are very happy.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

I modified  the adapter plate on an IH 1066 at work the other day to put a 5.9 in it. We just remachined the plate but the flywheel was the worst part. We had to plug some of the holes and redrill them. The flywheel actually took more labor than the plate. The guy bolted it in and worked great. JP

I would love to do a repower, but I have to get my head around not using an AC motor in an AC tractor!!  I thought of putting a 5.9 in my 7020 vs. rebuilding the 301, but haven't decided yet!
