Sounds like a gun that will kill on one end and wound on the other

Never heard of the caliber so I looked it up. Stretched .44 magnum. Throws a 300 grain projectile around 1300 to 1500 depending on powder charge versus .44 mag throwing 240 grain same speed. Should be a handful. I had(key word had) a 460 s&w barrel for my Encore. Had to put 3 scope rings on to keep scope zeroed! Recoil was terrible. Finally sold the barrel to a guy from Florida who wanted it to hunt Hogs. I told him if you can hit the hog and hang onto it. Kills at both ends!

But then again,,,I hunt Deer and Elk with a 7MM Remington Magnum,,,,,LOL

Wowsers, my 44mag 6" Blackhawk is way more than enough for me, 6', 235.  My 357mag 4" Taurus is just right.  Does Mike have a handler with it he brings along? Wink

Have heard of the .445 super, never fired or even see one. I have a .454 Casull with a 7.5" barrel. Full house loads are a handful! I bought this thing before the .460 Smith came out or might have went that way.

I have just what you got.  It is a handful but you can manage with a good grip.  If you reload it can be downloaded quite a bit with cast bullets for practice and be a lot of fun.  Just don't shoot too many rounds at a time or you could develop a flinch that is tough to quit.  Kurt

I suspect that most mortal men would start out withy a healthy flinch, and it would grow from there.

kjs, I use .45 long colts for practice rounds. Cheaper and much less abusive! The .44 Mag. is a real pussycat in comparison, even with stiff hunting loads.
