Sounds like someone didn't believe in cooling system care. Colfax Tractor Parts has lots of combines. Might try them.

Haha, Im guessing whoever owned it ran straight water  or cheap coolant in it. I just got the tractor at the end of June and it ran great. I always checked fluids before using it and one day there was coolant in the oil.

How many hours are on the engine? I cant remember, but is there a hydraulic pump on it as well? It's been a while since I've looked at one.

since ac went out of business just like ih. if your gana pull you can put any type in it. it just has to be so many cubic in in the class your pulling in. if i remember right which i probly dont just what i think i remember

Thanks. I'm still doing some homework but when I figure out everything for this project I'll let ya know. I'm still trying to figure out the oil pan clearance with the axle.

The drive line in the 180/185`s are stronger than you think, I spent a lot of hours at the dealership I worked at on the bosses 180 super stock. ran a 301 twin turbo intercooled setup turning a set of 30.5x32`s and never had a trans,rear,or final drive failure the whole time we ran it. The tractor was not short on power ether, won Super Pull at Indy in 1980 with it.
