Do 426 exhaust manifold bolts actually have different tread pitch then 1/2 x 13

No, but they did use a "self locking" type of bolt. I use regular grade 8 on the puller.

They must of used that locking thread for a reason. Ed's isn't together for 1000's of hours so he has no trouble.
