Grasping at straws here but would
any one happen to have a 426 engine
with 4.5 inch pistons or sleeves in it
sitting in the back corner of the shop.

This question is just for my information. Does the block have to be machined to a larger sleeve. Im assuming the standard sleeves arent thick enough for the larger bore

I believe the largest diameter piston in the thinnest custom made sleeve is in the 4.400" diameter range. So yes, the block needs to be bored for 4.500".
