I have a JI Case older tractor. SC, VAC, ?. It's missing serial number tag on the dash. Is there a serial number maybe stamped into a casting somewhere? You guys are always willing to help. Thanks in advance!

I had a VAC several years ago.  The serial number was on a plate on the dash, out from the steering column.  The SC may be the same.

Yup that's what's missing Larry. Appreciate the quick response. If anyone wants to take a gamble on a tricycle front end JI Case tractor it's for sale near Peoria, IL. I can text or email pics of it to you.

It is also stamped into the bell housing of the engine on the left hand side behind the air cleaner.  Only time this number is incorrect is if the engine was changed.  My Serial # is off by about 1700 units as I had to replace it.  I was glad the 2 numbers were both mfg. the same year.

Post a picture. I might be able to narrow down a year, based on if it has certain features.
Pre-WW2 A-C tractors on steel wheels...because I'm too cheap to buy tires!

dad had a VAC for years, was the packing tractor and spraying tractor, sometimes a jockey tractor. no 3rd gear and no brakes or hyd's they all broke!
