Hello,
 
I will be going to an Allis Chalmers 2800 MK1 engine that's quite a few miles away. I may have to pull the injection pump (staynadyne). What should I do/expect to get in to?

Did you see DMiller's reply on the Construction Equipment to this question from when you asked it this morning?

Are you looking for something else for info? Have you pulled Stanadyne pumps off other engines?

Don't know your specific application, but on a tractor it is easy. Remove the exhaust manifold bolts with muffler and raise it up and rest it on top of the injectors. It also can be removed down and out if desired. Remove timing window on the inj pump to drain the fuel. MARK the pump where it attaches to the engine so you KNOW exactly where it is now timed. Loosen all injector lines at the injectors. Remove fuel filter assembly. Remove mounting nuts/washers at the pump flange and after disconnecting throttle and fuel shut-off pull the pump to the rear with the injection lines still attached to the pump. NOTICE THE PUMP DRIVESHAFT.  IT IS A FLAT TANG WITH A TIMING "DOT" ON ONE SIDE. Look inside the injection pump and you will see a timing "DOT" down inside it. Line up dot to dot and align your previous mark and you are right back where the pump was timed before.

QUESTION, why are you removing the pump ?  We receive a dozen or so pumps a year in a box and placed on our parts counter, 11 of which there was nothing wrong with....
