I took my 220 to plow days this past weekend. Had fun plowing once we got the plow set up correctly and I learned how to set the traction booster properly. I could pull my 5 bottom Ford/White plow in 3rd but the temp gauge would creep up so I mostly stayed in 2nd. I am new at plowing but everyone said it was plowing hard. There was a Ford 8600 there pulling a six bottom. He was running about the same speed as me in 2nd. Anyhow, on my drive home it started to run a little rough then started to pop and miss then died. It acted like it ran out of fuel. I got out and checked the glass bowl on the filter and it was full of fuel. I got back in and it would start and run fine for awhile then did it again. It always starts back up and runs fine. I debated earlier in the year if I should have the pump rebuilt and injectors gone through just because of age and it sitting around for awhile but it seemed to run fine. It doesn't seem to start very well but it will start without ether if I use the manifold heater at least 3 times. Any suggestions on a simple fix? I have 2 people wanting me to help due some plowing this fall but will be very disappointed if I can't get it fixed in a short time. Thanks.

Start by removing the glass bowl and turning on the petcock. There should be TWO STREAMS of fuel gushing out. If not, you are plugged either at the sediment bowl base or the fuel tank outlet. Once that is good-to-go, then remove the fitting on the top cover of the injection pump and remove the glass ball and spring from inside the fitting. Make sure this fitting is absolutely open and no debris inside. Pump may still need to be OH'd but this will get you by for now.

I forgot to add this has a Minimec/Simms pump. It has no sediment bowl. It has an actual filter assembly with a glass bottom plus it has a spin on filter along the frame rail before it goes to the pump. I know people say I don't need it but I put an electric fuel pump on it earlier this spring. I thought maybe the first filter is plugging up and maybe I can just take the cartridge out and see if that fixes it but I didn't think it should start right back up and run fine if the filters are plugged. It doesn't set but maybe a minute or 2 at the most and runs fine after it starts. I will definitely make sure I have good fuel flow all the way to the pump when I get time to work on it again. Thanks.
