 Topic: 2000 plow hydraulic reset pressure?

Getting the 2000 plow and 185 ready for an upcoming plow day. There will be some rocks to contend with. Where do you start out for pressure on the resets? What is the maximum?

Been 20 years ago, but I remember running around 800-900 psi hydraulic pressure. I hope your accumulator has a good nitrogen charge in it. Use no more hydraulic pressure than needed to keep the bottoms from tripping back under normal plowing.

Dr I think it's 1800 to 2000 psi. On gauge on hyd side of accumulator tank. Pretty sure book also says not to operate below that psi

That's the nitrogen pressure. The hydraulic pressure is only what it takes to keep the bottoms from tripping....like I say 800 to 900.

Important to be sure you have the nitrogen pressure first---------------unless you like fixing broken plow parts.

I agree with Dr, I start at about 800 and can go up from that if needed. There were two different trip designs and one would go higher pressure, if you need I can look in my operaters manual and see what that says.

Thanks all,
I do have access to the equipment to check and charge the accumulator and will do that also. Jim I am not familiar enough with the 2000 plows to know if early or late? Can take a picture though. I know that I will need the trips working right as last time we plowed at this place I took a D-19 and 70 series plow and broke 3 shear bolts.

I don't know how to tell the difference but, on a "parallel Linkage" the book says 850 to 1100 psi on the oil side, it also says don't operate below 850psi. On what they call a "converging linkage" the book says charge the oil side to 1300psi. It also says not to operate below 1250lbs. From the book I have I don't know how to tell the difference.

I got my book out and it says.
Charging hyd reset system converging linkage reset.
To charge the oil side of the accumulator proceed as follows:
Goes on with the steps that you know.
Step 5 charge the oil side of the accumulator to 1800-2000 psi.
In light soils use low oil pressure and in heavy soils use high oil pressure . Do not operate the plow with less then 1800 psi oil pressure ( unless nitrogen pressure is reduced )
That's out of my 2000 plow manual

I got my info from operators manual also for a 2000 series plow, book is dated Feb 1975.
For checking accumulator one says to charge oil side to1000, then let out slow as stated, other one says to charge to 1400psi and let out as stated, I guess I just don't know, you are pretty much on your own, I am just taking what is in my book.

Mine is feb 1981. That's intersecting. How would you know what your plow is. My book doesn't put a nitrogen psi but describes how to check it. Says to put 1800 psi in oil side and let it out slowly and when it drops rapidly note what psi it was at. So I would assume that it's 1800psi

It's true there are two different settings depending on how old the plow is. They changed the linkage. I don't remember anything else but got a 6 bottom that I'll have to figure out by fall.
