I have worn out threads on my axle mount dual hubs. The U-Bolt threads are wore also. I called Unverferth and they cannot get these U-bolt style hubs anymore. Any ideas on where to get decent used hubs? Thought about retapping my hubs to bigger size, but that doesn't solve the U-Bolt problem and I'm sure those U-Bolts are hard to find. Thanks. |

If you have the standard 9 bolt steel rim duals, you could find a pair of A-C factory "flower pot" cast adaptors.

Yeah they are the standard 9-bolt duals. I believe 3 1/4 axle width

D-21 has the same size axle i found some massy hubs from a salvage yard i just had to get keys made because the keyway was a different size but that was only 30 dollars.

Unverferth was able to get me new ubolts for my 220 hubs i would start there, if you have a good welding shop in the area they may also be able to make some. As far as the threads in the hubs being wore out, i have seen guys use wheel weight bolts that you pound in (john deere 4020's etc)

Depending on the style of the hubs a 1066IH U-bolt will work. I bought a set from Unverferth about 3 years ago. If you cannot find them I have a buddy that wons a spring shop and can make them and ship them to you. (SWOH) Pm me if interested in going that route.

Try a local truck shop, they can usually custom make ubolts, at least at my truck shop they can bend bolts of all lenghts and diamater bolts to use as ubolts.

I dealt with a guy out of Russiaville, Indiana for my 210 hubs. In fact, I traded him a pair of 200 9-bolt hubs for the 210 hubs. He runs Orem Truck & Salvage and one of his specialties is new and used duals, hubs, weights, etc. He has got a lot of stuff and is very knowledgeable. The last number I had for the place was 765-249-3107 or 765-883-5626. I would bet if he doesn't have it he would know where to get it.

ranger42, how long ago did you trade him hubs?? I bought a set of 9 bolt hubs for my 200 and 7060 from him a few years ago. Maybe the 200s were yours. He is a great guy to deal with. The number I have for him is 765-513-0610, I have talked to him within the last 6 months. |

Dan's 7080, I traded him about 4-5 years ago...I had the Hubs sandblasted, but not painted - they had a little white paint left on them. However, I know Ray is pretty particular and he may have painted them. I know he taps the threads and makes sure they're clean. I was pretty impressed with him.

Thanks everyone for all the info. We found a local spring shop to bend the U's for us. Those flower pot duals are pretty neat, I have never seen them before. Thinking about helicoiling the holes in the hubs that don't tighten up anymore, theres about 5 total on both hubs. Probably a temporary fix but we'll see.

A heli-coil would actually be better threads than the cast by itself. If installed properly that is. I would heli-coil all of them if they are getting worn thin.
