Going to a local pull tomorrow with my WD which is totally stock with 14.9 x 28 tires. It is a wide front. what weight class can I start out in? What is the best gear to pull in, not sure if there is a speed limit? I do have some weights that I can add to it. Any help will be appreciated!!! Dave C.

Went on a tractor ride today and rode across a scale. Weighted 3760 with a WD45 wide front including myself at 150 lbs. You'll probably have to pull 4000lbs unless you can shave its weight down. I feel 1st gear would be best for your 1st hook. I personally feel 2nd might be better with a few hooks under your belt.

I doubt any stock WD could ever pull 2nd gear unless it was on gravel.

My first hook I pulled in the 4000 lb, used 2nd gear, got 4th out of 8. Second hook 4500, used 1st, was within 4 or 5ft of the first pull. 8 or 9 in each class. Pulled in the 5 and the 5500 without any more added weight and was still in the 230ft range! Great day! got the bug now!!!

1st gear would be my choice if it is any kind of track at all and put 200lbs on the front if you have moveable weight.

And if there is a drawbar height limit get it up to that and adjust the drawbar as short as you can . I have seen a lot of guys get a spare drawbar and cut it off just behind the saddle and put a new hole in it there.
