That's a great AC spec sheet! Thanks Dr. Thank you Coggonobrien for sharing a photo of it.
What does "Trans?" stand for in Trans pump press? Transfer?? Interesting how the Lcombine's 2900mkII spins 200rpms & has 10hp more than 7000's 2900mkII. Edited by AC7060IL - 26 Sep 2018 at 10:38am |

All HP ratings are FLYWHEEL HP, not PTO.

I wonder why the 860 Cotton Stripper is the only one missing information?
Another probably dumb question...what's the difference in a 2800 and a 2800 MK 1? Or the difference in a MK 1 and MK 2 for that matter. Edited by CrestonM - 26 Sep 2018 at 8:54pm |

On the 3000 series 426 engines, Mark 2 was the new generation which began with the 7030/7050 tractor. That meant upside down oil filters and a DM-series injection pump. Also was crankshaft driven engine oil pump only. The older 3000 series were in the D-21/210/220 . They had DC injection pumps, oil pump was either way and turbo was center mounted on the ex manifold. The blocks were different between the two engine series. The 2000 series 301 engines are a little confusing. Anything Mark 2 for sure had the copper injector tubes in the cylinder head. Injection pump may have been a DM-4 or a Simms in-line. Mark 1 may have been making reference to a crankshaft driven engine oil pump?? and dual oil filters?? like the 200 tractor had?

I have a 2800, color yellow, industrial power unit that has a DC injection pump, crank driven oil pump and dual oil filters. The decal on the radiator says Mark I as well as the data plate with all the catalog numbers on the engine block. So I'd say Doc you are right again!, Mike

What does the exhaust color " V H" stand for? Some of them have an asterisk or 2 behind them.

I always assumed it stood for Very Hazy. None of those engines were very clean burning at that point in history. When they went to Bosch Injectors in 1980 or so, things cleared up a bit over the AC injectors.

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
