interesting information, for sure. BTW, on another site, there was a discussion about using ctrl key + mouse wheel to zoom in/out of a webpage. IDK if it works with all browsers, but it does work with IE & Firefox; Sure makes things easier to see when a picture is too large for the screen size.

That is a big change from the WD45 models. Some big changes tho in the D17. Inflation was starting!

I found the $900 upcharge to go to a diesel to be interesting.

A true "base" tractor was 4-speeds, no hydraulic system, no lift arms, no Power Director, no power take off. Then, you could add each item individually if you wanted.

My dad bought a brand new Allis Chalmers D-17 gas tractor,
November 6, 1962 for $4,106.49. Serial #1739748. The dealer was Charlie Hauber in Winfield, Kansas. I still have the tractor and use it often.

I saw a D14, I think a D14, with no lift arms. It was in the AC shop I used to work in for a tune up or something. I wish I would have looked it over more closely. I didn't get to do the work on it.

Interesting enough there was a Base D-17 shown on the forum about a year or two ago. It was questioned since they were not usual tractors. If I recall it was in very good shape.
I had to go o Pop's price book to verify that yes, Allis Chalmers Made a Base D-17 As stated above I still have Pop's 1960 small price book. One of my prized possessions. Good Luck! Bill Long

Dad bought a 1st year D17 with a 17 mounted picked in the fall of 1960 when the old H with International picker dropped the rear end. Dad's D17 had set on the lot for quite a while. He paid 3250.00 for it and the picker. He also had the dealer get him a wide front end to put on it after the picker came off. I don't know what the wide front cost him.
