Hi, I think this is a 1970ish 190xt series III.  It baled all summer no issue.  The remote lifted the baler gate no problem.  I put rear 3 pt forks on and can lift a 5.5x5.5 round bale.  But I noticed it would hang on occasion.  My rear forks have a cylinder attached to an arm which is supposed to be able to slide a bale off.  Which hasn't been done with this tractor probably since the 70s (long before I was born).  I have been trying to slide a bale off the forks and it can't.  I topped off the reservoir as it was about a gallon low.  That didn't help.  Swapped cylinders, that didn't help.  So I put a pressure gage on the remote port and i noticed it got less than 500 psi.  I changed the hyd filter and tried again.  The gauge kind of danced around 400 psi with each cycle of the remote, one cycle it shot up to 2000 psi.  But then the next cycle of the remote it was back to ~400ish psi.  Power steering seems fine.

I have a service manual coming but anybody have any advice?  I've read a bit on here about adjusting the relief pressure maybe on the remote, but I'm not sure how to do that.  And looking at the remotes down low behind the filter I don't see anything obvious.  Other than it needs a good bath.  Thanks

I think you have a main relief valve that needs replacing or resealed. You could swap it with the 2100 psi Traction Booster relief valve assembly and see if that fixes the problem.  You mess around with trying to adjust the relief valve and you may suddenly be buying a new hydraulic pump if something goes wrong. Used to be a seal kit for the relief valve was less than $20 bucks. Not sure if a kit is even available anymore.

My 200 acted exactly the same. If I slowly moved the remote le it would sometimes hit 2000 for a brief moment and then drop. Usually sat around 500 or less. Like doc suggested to me, it was the relief valve. I found a neighbor with a half stripped 190 sitting in the weeds. I think a new valve from AGCO was about $300. This was a year ago.

Yes and its identical to the TB relief valve. The one you need to remove is the one on the back of the valve stack. Hard to see and harder to remove and/or adjust. But if I did it so can anybody.

you got it, it is a 2 stage relief valve.  The little pintle should be free and the sleeve around it should be as well.  If you put an oring kit in 70261795 be very careful - back the adjusting screw off and use a pressure gauge to adjust.  The kit - has gone up
Doc !- I will file a request to lower tomorrow.  70276323..

I got one last Spring 2020 without pricing it. I refused it because of the price. It also had springs and things that aren't ever needed. Just gimme the orings and seals.

Got the price lowered.... not as much as wanted - still order the orings /back up rings cheaper - new price is little over $80 with everything.

Thanks Men.

Dr Allis that was just the trick.  Swapped cartridges and got roughly 2100 psi on the remote.  Slid the bale right off.  The cartridges were barely torqued down.

tbran, are you an agco dealer?  Shouldn't that kit pn be 70255230?
